Voice Over Artists
The On Hold Toolkit features the following voice over artists. Each one delivers a generic on hold message. Each message can be spliced and altered as the user feels fit. There are extra lines delivered by Andy Freeman that are included with the package.
Andy Freeman - Andy has been a presenter and voice over artist for over 25 years. He started his broadcasting journey on the Voice of Peace a radio station on a ship broadcasting the the middle east off the coast of Tel Aviv moving back to the UK in the early 80s and worked on a variety of commercial stations in the UK. Andy has voiced many radio and TV adverts and is currently the presenter of the Travel section on BBC Radio Solent.
Elizabeth Phillips - Elizabeth has been doing voice over for only a few years but has appeared on radio, film and TV on a regular basis. She has a deep but also upbeat voice that brings a fresh and modern feel into her projects.
Andy Dennis - Andy is a voice artist with many credits onTV, film and radio. Although younger than most voice over artists his voice has a maturity and depth that empowers his performances.
Emmy Lou Martin - Emmy Lou is a regular voice over artist in TV and Radio adverts. Shw has a deep and clear style with that disctinctive corporate feel. |

For many years companies have used music to help sell their products and services. Most commonly this has been in the form of a jingle, a short piece of music where the company message is played over and over so that the recipient is left with a certain memory, usually a tune mentioning the company name and slogan. This type of advertising can be very powerful, the human auditory system allows for a great deal of unconscious processing of information which is why we often find ourselves whistling a tune without realising it. Knowing this, companies deliberately added melodies that would stick in the listeners heads.
These days jingles are still used a great deal but for those companies that do not offer a product or service that can be sold over the radio or on TV, music still plays a vital key in their sales. The most common example where music plays a role is on the telephone. Dial any commercial telephone number these days and chances are you will be put on hold and when that happens you are usually met by some on hold music.
